Dr. Kate Fortunati is an assistant professor and the director of field education for the master's in social work (MSW) program at the 花椒直播. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern Oregon University (2009), a Master of Social Work from Saint Louis University (2012) with a Specialization in Children and Families, and a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from Rutgers University (2018). She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Kate has practiced as a clinical social worker for the past 10 years. Her professional experiences include facilitating direct social work practice and mental health counseling to individuals, families, and groups. She has practiced in a variety of settings, including mental health systems, schools, and carceral systems. She is the editor of New Circle Magazine, a member of the International Coalition for Children with Incarcerated Parents (INCCIP), and a member of Morning Tears International.
Her primary areas of teaching, research, and expertise are in direct social work practice, social justice and diversity, children of incarcerated parents, and field education. She lives in Boise, Idaho.
