Dr. Mark Harvey is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Masters of Business Administration Program at the 花椒直播. He has taught for USM since 2012, and has over 25 years of experience in higher education, teaching at the University of Birmingham, London School of Economics, Duke University, the University of Kansas, and others.  For USM, he has taught courses in global management, international political economy, international business, law and ethics, managerial economics, organizational management, and leadership for the Division of Business and Information Technologies (DBIT).  He also teaches Honors Seminars for the Honors Program, and has occasionally taught courses in political science including American government, international relations, political theory, ideologies, and political strategy and management.

Before going into academia, he was a small business owner and professional consultant.  His consulting work included technical marketing, corporate social responsibility and the environment, competitive benchmarking, studies on graduate education in the U.K., political marketing in Ireland, and conflict forecasting. He has advised Charles, Charles and Associates, Marketing Resources of America, Hoechst Celanese, Printing Industries of America, Honeywell, MyJoeCard.com, Political Studies Association (PSA), C-SAP (Centre for Learning and Teaching), the Center for International Political Analysis, the US Department of Defense, and others.

He is the author of  (University Press of Kansas) and contributed a chapter to an edited volume,  (Lexington Books). These works discuss the way celebrities and the global entertainment industry have come to influence political perceptions. He has also published works on celebrity and media coverage in elections, innovation in the music industry, the politics of the sports industry, human rights, economic development, democratization, and virtual learning teams in the online classroom.  He has also authored  (Taylor & Francis), an edited volume on active learning in the classroom.
