Understanding Financial Aid Options

certificate iconMerit Scholarships: From $12,000 to Full Tuition

All students are automatically considered for our generous scholarships when they apply to USM. Freshmen awards are based on high school GPA, and transfer scholarships are based on transferable college GPA. These awards do not have to be repaid.

Need-based grants are based on each student's financial need. They are awarded at federal, state, and university levels. Student need is evaluated each year when you submit the FAFSA. Grants do not have to be repaid.

USM participates in the Federal Work-Study Program, which provides funding for part-time student jobs to help pay for education expenses. Explore student positions.
