Clinical Education
Welcome to the »¨½·Ö±²¥ Athletic Training Program!
The »¨½·Ö±²¥ is here to support your journey in becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer. To have a great experience, though, it is very important you familiarize yourself with our policies, procedures, and resources.
Prior to starting clinical education, the student must provide proof of immunizations, pass a criminal background check, a drug test, and a Tuberculosis test, be cleared to participate through a medical examination, complete emergency cardiac care training, and in some cases provide proof of health insurance. Students who do not complete these requirements may not progress in the athletic training program and may go through an appeal process.
Clinical Experiences
Your degree extends beyond the classroom. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, you will complete clinical internships that provide opportunities to practice the profession firsthand. Clinical experiences range in settings from collegiate athletics to physician offices to professional sports and more. The focus of clinical education is to develop independence for patient care and progresses your knowledge and skills to entry-level for a successful transition into the athletic training profession.
