What Can You Do with an Elementary Education Degree?

Studying education means you will not only learn contemporary education theory, but you鈥檒l also observe master educators at work, gradually progressing until you lead your very own classroom of students.

Along your path to teaching licensure, our professors and staff provide exceptional professional support and mentoring opportunities. We鈥檒l also connect you with recent grads to help you through the process.

Once you graduate, you鈥檒l find that USM education graduates are in high demand 鈥 our graduates get jobs.

Entry level, state supported teacher salaries are legislated in the state in which our graduates choose to teach. The average Teacher Elementary School salary in Kansas is $62,000, with the range typically falling between $51,000 and $75,000. Salary ranges can vary widely depending on the city and many other important factors, including education, certifications, additional skills, the number of years you have spent in your profession.

Traditional advanced career options may include:

  • Elementary education teacher (preschool through sixth grade)
  • Principal
  • Superintendent
  • School counselor
