The 花椒直播 has a nearly 100-year history of academic excellence and serving others at the fullest points of their needs. The USM Online Master of Social Work program prepares the next generation of social workers who are ready for the challenges of the 21st Century.

USM educates students in a variety of both generalist and specialized social work practice methods and skills. The program is designed to prepare students for a multitude of professional practice positions, particularly in health care, mental health, and forensic social work systems of care.

Students in the Health & Mental Health Social Work specialization can gain 10 hours of specialized certifications in trauma and crisis intervention skills, and students in the Forensic Social Work specialization can gain seven hours of certifications through national forensic organization trainings.

Highlights:
Dr. Bea is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Kentucky with extensive clinical experience in pediatric and adult mental and behavioral health, substance abuse, mental health education and training. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Kentucky, her MSSW from the University of Louisville, and her DSW from the University of Kentucky. She has published in The New Social Worker magazine, presented at numerous conferences on mental health, parenting, grief, secondary trauma, wellness, ancestral methods of healing and social work education. She is a member of the Kentucky Society of Clinical Social Work, Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy at Loyola Chicago, Coalition of Black Social Workers, CSWE, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated.

Jen has practiced as a clinical social worker since 2009. Her professional experiences include case management, clinical care coordination, school-based social work, health care counseling and therapy, and facilitating Medicaid Waiver services. She volunteers at the 鈥淟ife of a Single Mom鈥 support group. Jen is a first-generation Haitian American graduate from her family and is fluent in Haitian Creole.

Dr. Kate Fortunati is an assistant professor and the director of field education for the master's in social work (MSW) program at the 花椒直播. She has practiced as a clinical social worker for the past 10 years. Her professional experiences include facilitating direct social work practice and mental health counseling to individuals, families, and groups. She has practiced in a variety of settings, including mental health systems, schools, and carceral systems.

The program prepares social workers who are rooted in professional values and ethics and are equipped for future leadership and successful careers in the field of social work.

Accreditation

The 花椒直播 MSW Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education鈥檚 (CSWE) Board of Accreditation (BOA). Accreditation of a master's in social work program by the BOA indicates that it meets or exceeds standards of program quality evaluated through a peer review accreditation process. An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals and the BOA has verified that it demonstrates compliance with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality of the program and the competence of students graduating from the program.
