(Leavenworth, Kan.)鈥擠r. Gwen Landever, academic dean and associate professor in education, has been named to the Aspiring Campus Leaders Academy by the Kansas Independent College Association's (KICA). She, alongside 19 faculty members from other KICA institutions, will have the opportunity to partake in learning and training specific to smaller, private colleges like USM. The academy will kick off with a two-day training in Lawrence this May.

KICA has partnered with Credo, a comprehensive higher education consulting firm, to bring the leaders the latest thinking and proven methodologies on campus planning, strategic thinking, student success, enrollment, and financial aid. In addition, Dr. Landever will have access to more than dozen supplemental learning opportunities on budgeting, governance, data trends, hiring, and faculty evaluation tools.

"Gwen is a dedicated faculty member embodying our university's core values," said USM President Sister Diane Steele. 

"She embraces our 花椒直播 mission, and she is committed to creating the best learning environment for our students to thrive."

KICA was founded in 1976 to develop and enhance the competitive standing of its 19 member independent, nonprofit, regionally accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities. Today, located in Topeka, it follows this same mission鈥攕triving to assure opportunity and choice in higher education for all students.

Reflecting on the Aspiring Campus Leaders Academy, he said, "To invest in the future leadership of our member institutions is to invest in their students, and our communities as a whole."
