Federal Pell Grants

The Pell Grant Program is a federal aid program assisting needy students with direct aid, which students are not required to repay. To qualify for these awards, students must demonstrate financial need. A FAFSA application is required and an EFC that is Pell Grant eligible.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants

These federal grants are available for students demonstrating high financial need. Amounts usually range from $500-$1,000. Funding is limited.

Federal Work-Study (Student Employment)

花椒直播 offers part-time employment to help offset educational, living, and social expenses. Positions are always available in Ryan Sports Center, business offices, laboratories, Keleher Learning Commons, and switchboard. Assignments are based on the student鈥檚 total financial package, and his/her award depends on their financial need for the year. Funding is limited.

Federal Direct Stafford Loans

There are two kinds of federal Stafford loans. Regardless of type, students are under full obligation to repay either loan six months after graduation or when they drop below the required course load.

  • Subsidized: based on need; the federal government 鈥渟ubsidizes鈥 the interest on this loan while the student is in school.
  • Unsubsidized: not need-based; available to students regardless of personal or family income, but the student pays interest while he/she is in school.

Federal TEACH Grant

The program provides grants to students completing or planning to complete course work needed to begin a teaching career. As a condition for receiving a TEACH Grant, the student must sign a TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve each year, which includes the following criteria:

  • Teach in a high-need field
  • Teach at an elementary school, secondary school, or educational service agency serving students from low-income families
  • Teach for at least four complete academic years (within eight years after completing or ceasing enrollment in) the course of study for which you received the grant
